Vice President Mike Pence Gives Stern Warning To North Korea:

US Vice President Mike Pence doubled down on the US commitment to Asia Pacific with a stern warning for North Korea, which he called the “most dangerous and urgent threat” to the region.

Speaking aboard the USS Ronald Reagan at the Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan Wednesday, Pence reiterated the US and its allies were prepared to respond to potential North Korean attack with “overwhelming” force.
“We will defeat any attack and meet any use of conventional or nuclear weapons with an overwhelming and effective American response,” the Vice President said, to applause from the hundreds of US and Japanese troops gathered on the deck.

Mark Zuckerberg used his biggest press event of the year to briefly address an uproar over a murder video posted to Facebook.

“We have a lot of work, and we will keep doing all we can to prevent tragedies like this from happening,” Zuckerberg said on stage at F8, Facebook’s annual developers conference

“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Robert Godwin Sr.,” Zuckerberg added. He opened his keynote with jokes about the Fast and the Furious. He spoke briefly about building community before addressing the Cleveland murder.

On Sunday, a Cleveland man posted a video to Facebook (FB, Tech30) of him shooting and killing Godwin., a 74-year-old grandfather who was on his way home from an Easter meal with family.

This weekend, thousands of Americans will take part in the Tax March, a national day of protest calling for President Donald Trump to reveal his tax returns. But progressive activists hardly have a monopoly on Tax Day demonstrations. Eight years ago, the Tea Party made national headlines on April 15th by holding rallies opposing President Obama. Despite the conventional wisdom, Americans don’t protest because they do not want to pay taxes. On the contrary: as I show in my new book, Americans on both sides of the political aisle treat taxpaying as a source of authority, and use their status as taxpayers to demand representation from their government. When we argue about taxes, we are often arguing about whose voice deserves to be heard.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Tuesday directing federal agencies to implement the “Buy American, Hire American” rhetoric of his campaign.

“The buy and hire American order I’m about to sign will protect workers and students like you,” Trump told a crowd of technical students and manufacturing employees at the headquarters of Snap-On Tools, a Wisconsin-based manufacturer. “It’s America first, you better believe it. It’s time. It’s time, right?”
The order, which Trump signed after delivering his remarks, looks to bolster protections for certain American-made goods and calls for a review of the H-1B visa program for skilled workers, with the goal of reforming the program, senior administration officials said
