White House Confirms Adviser Reassigned After Disagreeing With Trump:

A senior National Security Council adviser was reassigned to his old job at the National Defense University, a White House spokeswoman confirmed Sunday, after he criticized the Trump administration’s Latin American policies.

Craig Deare was removed from his role as a senior adviser at the National Security Council’s Western Hemisphere division Friday and “sent back to his original position,” said Sarah Sanders, a White House spokeswoman. Deare had been assigned to the NSC by the Trump administration.

Facebook Is Coming To A TV Near You:

Facebook started on desktop computers and fought its way onto smartphones. Now it wants to own your television too.

Facebook (FB, Tech30) said Tuesday it plans to launch apps for Apple (AAPL, Tech30) TV, Amazon (AMZN, Tech30) Fire TV and Samsung (SSNLF) Smart TV. They will bring videos shared on the social network into the living room.

The video app is expected to roll out “soon” to these three TV platforms, with others to come later, according to the company.

The launch could position Facebook to grab a share of lucrative TV advertising budgets at a time when the company is hitting a ceiling for the number of online ads it can put it in front of users.

Facebook has invested in live video, made it easier to search for videos and has begun dipping its toes into the market for original content.

“I see video as a megatrend on the same order as mobile,” Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s CEO and cofounder, said on an earnings call this month. “That’s why we’re going to keep putting video first across our family of apps and making it easier for people to capture and share video in new ways.”

She may be petite, but Zhang Hexian can pack a punch.

Oscar Nominees Have These Gifts In The Bag:

Don’t call it an Oscars gift bag.

The 2017 “Everyone Wins” nominee swag bag is not affiliated with the Academy Awards, nor is it available to everyone.
But that last part is not for lack of trying, said the man who created the bags.
“People are excited — is the word I would use — judging from the number of calls we get from people’s assistants and agents wanting to make sure we have the correct address to deliver the bag,” said Distinctive Assest founder Lash Fary, who curates the gift bags. “When people hear there’s a gift bag worth six figures being given out, we actually get calls from those not in the categories we gift.”
The bags are only given to the 25 actors and directors nominated for Oscars each year.
But who could blame other nominees for trying, though, given the goodies?

Trump Interviews Candidates To Fill National Security Slot:

President Donald Trump widened his search for a new national security adviser this weekend amid concerns in Washington that the forced resignation of Michael Flynn leaves the White House unprepared to face any sudden foreign policy crisis.

Flynn’s short tenure ended when he was asked to resign after misleading Vice President Mike Pence about his pre-inauguration calls with the Russian ambassador.
Trump interviewed several candidates to replace Flynn on Sunday, according to White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders.
“He did several interviews and in-depth meetings that are still ongoing as of this afternoon talking to different candidates for the national security adviser position,” she told reporters.
