Romans 12:18 ISV says, “If possible, so far as it depends on you, live in peace with all people.” But for many women, no matter how hard they try, they find it impossible to get along with their mother-in-laws. But gospel’s newest solo star, Erica Campbell, falls in the minority.
In a Mother’s Day Instagram post, she gushed, “In life you usually only get one mom! But I’m blessed to have 2!! The best Mother in Love on the planet she loves me strong!!”
The exclamation-filled post oozed unbridled affection—a departure from a majority of wives who report barely liking their mother-in-laws, let alone loving them, and enjoying a strong, peaceful, and healthy relationship to boot.
According to Time Magazine, Terri Apter, a psychologist at Cambridge University used research gathered over the past 20 years to show that women, more-so than men, struggle with tension in their in-law relationships.
Among hundreds of couples, the 2009 study revealed that 60% of women blamed friction with their husband’s mother as the cause of their long-term stress.
But the 41-year-old better half of producer and budding minister, Warryn Campbell, cannot relate. His mom, Sandra, gets an A+ from Mrs. Campbell.
